How to install ConvoPath on WordPress

ConvoPath drops into any WordPress theme with a single script tag. The cleanest path on a modern WordPress site is a free header/footer plugin so future theme updates don't wipe out your snippet.

    Copy your ConvoPath embed snippet

    Log in to ConvoPath, open your chatbot's settings, and go to the Install / Embed section. Click 'Copy snippet' to grab the one-line <script> tag — it contains your unique workspace ID, so each site you install on stays isolated. Keep the tab open; you'll paste this snippet into your platform's admin in the next step.

    Install a header & footer scripts plugin

    In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New and search for 'WPCode' (formerly 'Insert Headers and Footers' by WPBeginner). Click Install Now → Activate. This is the recommended path because the snippet survives theme switches and updates. Power users can instead edit Appearance → Theme File Editor → header.php directly, but be aware that any theme update will overwrite that file unless you're using a child theme.

    Paste the snippet into the Footer field

    Open Code Snippets → Header & Footer in the left sidebar. Paste the ConvoPath <script> tag into the 'Footer' box (which renders just before </body>) and click 'Save Changes'. The Header field also works, but Footer is preferred so the chatbot loads after your main page content.

    Verify the chatbot is live

    Open your site in an incognito/private window (so you bypass any logged-in admin bars or caches). The ConvoPath launcher should appear in the bottom-right corner within 2–3 seconds. Send a test message to confirm it answers from your trained content. If you don't see the launcher, view page source and search for 'convopath' to confirm the snippet is rendering.

Caching plugins (WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache) and CDN page caches will serve the old HTML until you purge. After saving the snippet, run 'Purge All Caches' (or equivalent) and reload your site in incognito. If you use Cloudflare's 'Rocket Loader', add the ConvoPath script's src host to its bypass list so the loader doesn't defer execution past the page-ready event.
